ELECTION COMMISSION MEETING

The Election Commission will meet Monday, July 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. to appoint election inspectors to work at the August 2, 2022 Primary Election. Other election related topics may be discussed. The meeting is open to the public, and will be held at the Franklin Township Hall, 3922 Monroe Road, Tipton.

JULY BOARD OF REVIEW


The July Board of Review will meet Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. to correct clerical errors and mutual mistakes of fact. The meeting will be held at the Franklin Township Hall, 3922 Monroe Road, Tipton, and is open to the public.

The Franklin Township Planning Commission will NOT hold a July meeting due to no new business.

TOWNSHIP OF FRANKLIN, LENAWEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT

To: The residents and property owners of the Township of Franklin, Lenawee County, Michigan, and any other interested persons:

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: that at a regular meeting held May 10, 2022, the Franklin Township Board adopted the following text amendments to the Franklin Township Zoning Ordinance:
1. Amend Section 7.02 of Article VII - Agricultural District to add seasonal u-pick,
Christmas tree farms and community supported leased gardens as a permitted use.
2. Amend Section 7.03 of Article VII - Agricultural District to add Agricultural Tourism as a conditional use.
3. Amend Section 4.31 of Article IV - General Provisions to add use standards for Agricultural Tourism Business.
4. Amend Article XXI - Definitions to add definitions for Agricultural Tourism and Community Supported Agriculture.
5. Amend Section 16.02(B) - Footnotes to schedule of regulations as it defers to yard spaces.
6. Amend Article XXI - Amend definitions for Setback (84) and Yard, required side-rear-front (98) (A, B, C).

EFFECTIVE DATE: The amendment is hereby ordered to take effect as follows: 30 days following publication provided that this effective date shall be extended as necessary to comply with the requirements of Section 402 of the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act.
The Franklin Township Ordinance may be viewed at franklintownship.net or inspected at the Franklin Township Hall during regular business hours.
